Hermann Derbuch, P.Eng. - Chairman & CEO, Director
Mr. Derbuch has a Masters Degree in Mining Engineering and is a registered member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario.
As Director of Mining with Noranda Minerals Inc., Mr. Derbuch’s responsibilities were towards 15 open-pit and underground gold/base metal mines. Mr. Derbuch held top executive positions with Minorca Resources Inc. and Eden Roc Mineral Corporation.
At Minorca, which owned the narrow vein Donalda Gold Mine, Quebec, Mr. Derbuch was instrumental in implementing key changes to their mining practices and methodology, resulting in doubling of the gold ore grade recovered, cost reductions of 60 percent, and efficiencies significantly increasing.
Most recently, Mr. Derbuch held the position of Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Twin Mining Corporation, a company he established by merging two junior gold exploration companies. When the gold market was at its lowest, Mr. Derbuch secured the company’s survival by bringing to the company high quality diamond properties, which advanced under his guidance from the grass-root stage to mini-bulk sampling with enviable results and excellent outlook for success.
At the same time, Mr. Derbuch guided the feasibility study for the Atlanta Gold Mine project resulting in an after tax IRR of more than 50 percent at metal prices above US$500.00 per ounce. For this project, Mr. Derbuch secured a commitment from Investec Bank (UK) to underwrite US$33 million for building the mine. While at the helm of Twin Mining Corporation, Mr. Derbuch raised more than $35 million.
Domenico Bertucci,
CA - Chief Financial Officer
Domenico Bertucci has a B.A. in Economics and Business from
York University, Toronto (1986) and received his Chartered Accountant
designation in 1991. His working experience includes ten years as Chief Financial
Officer for Twin Mining Corporation.
Gerry Gauthier, P.Eng. – Director
Gerry Gauthier is a professional Mining Engineer with 35 years of experience in open pit and underground operations. Highlights of his career include 15 years with Lac Minerals in key management roles as well as 11 years as a consultant and in senior operating positions with Glencairn Gold Inc., Conquest Resources Limited and United Keno Hill Mines Limited.
Mr. Gauthier is an experienced mining engineer who is, in his present position as Nevsun’s Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the completion and operation of the Tabakoto Mine in Mali and directing the feasibility Study of the Bisha gold, copper and zinc project in Eritrea.
Mr. Gauthier’s experience in mineral exploration and mine construction will be extremely helpful to Gold World as it seeks new gold properties in China.
Denis Francoeur, M.Sc.
Geology - Director
Mr.
Denis Francoeur
is an experienced executive and a professional geoscientist with over 30 years
of varied exploration experience which he acquired in Canada, Latin America and
Africa. Mr. Francoeur actively participated in the discovery of eight (gold,
base metal) deposits, of which seven became productive mines.
Currently, Mr. Francoeur is the
Chief Executive Officer of Diagem Inc., a publicly traded mining company focusing
on the exploration and development of diamond projects in Brazil. Before that,
Mr. Francoueur was Vice-President Exploration for RNC Gold following the
reverse takeover of Tango Mineral Resources Inc, a company he served as
President and Chief Executive Officer. Tango Mineral Resources was engaged in
the exploration of high-grade epithermal silver and gold veins in the state of
Durango, Mexico.
Mr. Francoeur is a member of the
Association of Professional Geoscientist of Ontario, a member and past
President of the “Association de l’Exploration Minière du Québec” which awarded
him the 1987 Prospector of the Year Award, and a member of the Prospectors and
Developers Association of Canada.
Brian McChesney, P.Eng., MBA - Director
Brian McChesney is a Managing Director and the Head of Retail Structured Products for Scotia Capital Inc. Mr. McChesney has over 20 years of Investment Banking experience with Scotia Capital, has obtained an MBA from the University of Chicago and holds a professional engineering designation in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Toronto. In addition to underwriting structured products, Mr. McChesney has the unique role of acting as chief executive officer and director of 23 listed structured product companies that are administered by Scotia Capital. Mr. McChesney has also served on a number of outside board positions.

Schmied -
Director
Mr.
Peter Schmied
is an experienced executive with global responsibilities as Executive Vice
President for 12 Divisions of Magna Decoma Trim. Magna is a company with plants
located in North America, Europe and Asia, including several 100 percent owned
plants in China which produce a variety of products for the automotive
industry.
Mr. Schmied has an
entrepreneurial background and took early in his career managerial
responsibilities within the Magna Group of Companies starting as Technical
Manager in 1984 and is holding since then various positions, including Vice
Presidencies, Chief Operating Officer and as President of Magna Interiors with
global sales of U.S.$ 1.4 Billion under his management.
Mr. Schmied in his current
position, besides running the day- to-day operations, is responsible for
developing and implementing new business strategies and acquisition management.
